বই-সই সমিতি

  On 2 nd December,2022 ‘Boi-Soi’ Club organized their 5 th book-talk at 3:15pm in Rabindra Nir. This was very special because for the 1 st time someone from outside the college came to share their passion for books with us. The program was started with an introduction of our club by the Librarian. After that Ankita Samanta, member of the club started the main event with a few words of gratitude. 1 st book-talk was on Alice Walker’s novel The Color Purple . This novel tells the story of a young girl named Celie and her journey from silence to voice, childhood to adulthood; it also deals with issues like rape, child-marriage, abusive relationships, etc. Madhurima Dey (English Department, Ashutosh College) caught the audience’s attention from the very beginning with her mesmerizing words. বই-সই সমিতির চতুর্থ বই-কথার আস র  বসেছিল ২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২২ তারিখ বিকেল দুটো পনেরো মিনিটে, ডঃ বি.সি. রায় মেমোরিয়াল হলে (অডিটোরিয়ামে)।   এদিনের সভার বিশেষত্ব ছিল চার রকম চারটি বইয়ের ওপর আধারিত বই-কথা। চারজন বক্তাই ছাত্রী এবং সবাই ইংরেজি বিভাগের। এবং আরেকটি উল্লেখ্য ব্যাপার হল, এই প্রথমবার বই-সই সমিতির সভা বসেছিল অডিটোরিয়াম হলে, যা সমিতির পক্ষে অবশ্যই একটি মনে রাখার মতো ঘটনা। শুধু তাই নয়, এদিনের সভার সঞ্চালনার দায়িত্বও ছিল একজন ছাত্রী, ইংরেজি বিভাগের অঙ্কিতা সামন্তর (Ankita Samanta) ওপর। বলা চলে এদিনের সভা ছিল ইংরেজি বিভাগের জন্য একটি ‘স্পেশাল’ সভা।   অনুষ্ঠান শুরু হয় গ্রন্থাগারিকের অবতরণিকার মাধ্যমে। তারপরে স্বাগত ভাষণ দেন অধ্যক্ষ শ্রীমতী জয়শ্রী লাহা। তিনি সংক্ষেপে বলেন বই পড়ার আনন্দের কথা। স্বাগত ভাষণের পর সুন্দর একটি ভুমিকা সহকারে মূল পর্বের অনুষ্ঠান শুরু করে অঙ্কিতা। প্রথম বই-কথাটি ছিল একটি ইংরেজি বইয়ের ওপর। আফগান-আমেরিকান লেখক Khaled Hosseini-র “The Kite Runner”. বইটির পটভূমি অনতিঅতীতের আফগানিস্তান। সেদেশে রুশ দখলদারি থেকে তালিবানি শাসন অবধি কাহিনির সময়সীমা। এককথায় একট...

বই-সমিতির চতুর্থ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে আগামী ২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২২ তারিখ ডঃ বি.সি. রায় মেমোরিয়াল হলে (অডিটোরিয়ামে) দুপুর দুটো পনেরো মিনিটে। থাকছে চারটি বুক-টক।  

  বই-সই সমিতির তৃতীয় সভা আয়োজিত হয়েছিল ১৬ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২২ তারিখে রবীন্দ্রনীড় সভাকক্ষে। অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতেই ছিল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ শ্রীমতী জয়শ্রী লাহার স্বাগত ভাষণ। ভাষণের পর তিনি আনুষ্ঠানিক ভাবে মোড়ক উন্মোচন করেন অধ্যাপক শ্রী প্রভাতকুমার সিটের একটি বইয়ের। বইটির নাম – Remote Sensing and GIS in Natural Resource Management.   এদিনের প্রথম বই-কথাটি বলে কম্পিউটার সায়েন্সের তৃতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রী শ্রীজিতা পাল ( Srijita Pal ), শরদিন্দু বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের “ব্যোমকেশ সমগ্র” নিয়ে। তার কথিকাটি ছিল প্রাঞ্জল ও মনোগ্রাহী। মূল কাহিনি নিয়ে আলোচনার পাশাপাশি শ্রীজিতার বক্তব্যে উঠে এসেছিল ব্যোমকেশ কাহিনির চলচ্চিত্রায়নের প্রসঙ্গও। কথিকার শেষে প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা ও ছাত্রীদের অংশগ্রহণ সভাটিকে প্রাণবন্ত করে তুলেছিল।   নলিনী বেরার আনন্দ পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত উপন্যাস “সুবর্ণরেণু সুবর্ণরেখা” নিয়ে দ্বিতীয় বই-কথাটি বলেন বাংলা ভাষা ও সাহিত্যের অধ্যাপিকা শ্রীমতী সুতনুকা পাল ( Sutanuka Pal )। শ্রীমতী পালের কথিকাটি ছিল আবেগমথিত, যা প্রায় সমস্ত শ্রোতার হৃদয়কে স্পর্শ করেছিল। বইটির এমন নিবিড় পরিচয় তিনি ...

  A Book-talk programme will be held on 16th September 2022 at the Rabindraneerh at 3 pm. Srijita Pal, 5th semester, dept. of Computer Science, will talk about "Byomkesh Samagra" (ব্যোমকেশ সমগ্র) by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay (শরদিন্দু বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়); and Ms. Sutanuka Pal, SACT, dept. of Bengali will talk about "Subarnarenu Subarnarekha" (সুবর্ণরেণু সুবর্ণরেখা) by Nalini Bera (নলিনী বেরা).

  দুটি বই-কথা ছিল এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান আকর্ষন। গ্রন্থাগারিকের অবতরনিকার পর প্রথম বই-কথাটি পরিবেশন করে ইংরেজি চতুর্থ সেমেস্টারের ছাত্রী অঙ্কিতা সামন্ত। তার আলচ্য বইটি ছিল   Benjamin Alire S á enz   –এর উপন্যাস   Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe অঙ্কিতার পর বলতে ওঠেন ইংরেজির অধ্যাপক ডঃ সৌম্যদীপ চক্রবর্তী। তিনি বলেন সম্প্রতি “ও’ হেনরি পুরস্কারে” ভূষিত অমর মিত্রের “গাঁওবুড়ো ও অন্যান্য গল্প” বইটি নিয়ে।
